I've been expecting this.

 

This week's entry, and guess what? A very similar entry from DC1. Bugger. Oh well. It's something that's always going to happen I suppose. There's a shark in my version. Perhaps that'll be enough to edge ahead.

Happy Valentine's Cartoon.

 

The theme for this week's cartoon was set by Tim Cordell, who won last week's contest. Was it a theme or a caption? I can't remember, so I've gone with a caption (in a bubble - which I don't often do). It was of course "Happy Valentine's Day". It must have been a caption. Quite a tricky one I thought. Initially I thought of machine guns, violin cases, gangsters, but I'm almost 73% certain that someone else will come up with that, and can probably draw a better gangster anyway - so I went with this idea. Quite pleased with the "sketchy" appearance of this cartoon. All done with the Cintiq of course. Getting more confident using it all the time.

Two cartoons this week. Same gag, just two different drawings of the same gag. Can't post both versions on the contest page, so I thought I'd post them both here.

 

The first cartoon is the one I posted. Don't think I'll get many points, having seen the other entries. There's one that screams to me winner, but the voting is a strange thing. Of course before the voting closes I won't comment any further.
