Workfare Unfair?

Workfare Cartoon 2012
Boycott Workfare is a UK-wide campaign to end forced unpaid work for benefits. It exposes and takes action against companies and organisations profiting from workfare; encourages organisations to pledge to boycott it; and actively informs people of their rights. The campaign is open to everyone to get involved.

Can't get to work because of the snow Cartoon.

I was waiting for another snow storm to post this cartoon, but then I realised that somewhere in the world there will be someone struggling with the snow. Amazing how many people couldn't make it to work over the bad weather here in the UK.  If you're stuck at home, forced to remain under your duvet, while your boss goes bankrupt - this cartoon is for you.

Now is a good time for this...

Well that didn't go too well. Very poor score in this week's contest. This is the alternative cartoon I would have posted, had I thought of it at the weekend and not just now.

I will post this to the forum when the scores are in, giving everyone the opportunity to say that they would have voted for this as their top cartoon and would have almost certainly won this week! I suspect that my other cartoon was too similar to another cartoon already posted in the contest, but I couldn't remember when that would have been posted.

Happy New Year.

Well, that's it for 2011. No more cartoons from me. Not until 2012 anyway, when I will be mostly drawing more old people for the CCGB caption contest. Old people and Nazi's. Brilliant subjects for cartoons, and always guarantee me a massive score on the contest. In other news, I'm also going to start sending more cartoons off. I've been a bit slack at doing that lately. No house move this year should help, but it was a smashing excuse while it lasted.

Anything I accidentally give up in 2012 will be declared a resolution, after the fact. Fingers crossed. See you in 2012. It's going to be MENTAL!

Hair & Hitler.

Oh, it's going to be a tricky week for voting, judging by the entries so far. This is THIS week's entry. I forgot to post last week's. Maybe because it didn't get any votes at all, whatsoever, or that it featured Hilter and I don't want it to be that sort of blog. At least it made sense.

Back to this week's entry. This is the second version of the same gag. The first one I just wasn't happy with the drawing. Mirrors. Should use them more in my drawings. Fingers crossed.

Help people with Facebook.

I can't remember if I've posted this before, and I'm far too busy to check. I deleted loads of posts a while back because the image links were goofed. Well it's as good a time as any to post this. Maybe it should be changed to "I'm going to create a facebook page to help all the people in Libya". But once again, I can't be arsed. I have cartoons of horses to draw!

Ho! Ho! Ooooooooohhhhhhhhh!

Here's the special Christmas entry on the CCGB forum thingy. They wouldn't let me post it at Easter for some reason. Have a great Christmas everyone, and thanks for reading the blog over the last year. Probably the last entry this year, so Happy New Year as well. Here's to 2011!

Prancing on Ice.

I haven't been able to do much in the way of cartooning over the last couple of weeks. I'm not entirely sure what I've been so busy doing, but I do know it all got a little hectic back there for a time. I have removed the dust from the Cintiq and given the cartoon contest another go. As usual, I didn't have a clue what to draw, until I started drawing it. Always good to be inspired by what's around you, and there's nothing more funny than an old lady falling over on some ice (as long as she's not injured of course). In fact anyone falling over is nearly always amusing for those not involved in the whole falling over business. But be good. Stop giggling, and lend a hand, if this really does happen anywhere near you!

Pagans can't be trusted.

A cartoon I drew this week to illustrate a problem someone I know was having with the Scouting Organisation. He wants to be a Scout leader, they don't want Pagans in their movement. Obviously Pagans cannot be trusted to teach anyone about the natural world, survival skills and other such matters that only apply to God fearing Christians and other mainstream religions! To be fair, it looks like they might have back-tracked somewhat, since this became and issue.

It's a long story.

This week's entry in the caption contest. Could be the last paper cartoon that I draw, if my Cintiq ever escapes from Germany. So next week's wobbly cartoon, is not a change in style - it's just me getting used to the Cintiq, and because it cost so much money refusing to draw anything the old fashioned way.

For the second week in a row, I've been topical. This isn't a requirement of the contest. The caption is set, and away we go with whatever pops up, but I changed the title of the book several times, until I found one that I think works. Of course, as last week, some of the topical stuff can get lost, if the voters aren't aware of the story.

If anyone would like to buy a handful of used pencils, half used PITT pens, and a big pack of nice smooth copier paper, just let me know!

HMRC PAYE Cartoon.

This week's entry in the cartoonist forum contest. Last week I was the honoured winner of a crackjack gel pen. I have no idea why. The cartoon was crap - that wasn't the mystery. Unusually, this week's cartoon is topical. Cutting edge topical, as I was struggling for ideas when listening to this mornings news on the Radio. The HMRC have buggered up lots of people's PAYE tax payments. Some will have to pay back an average of £1,500, some will get rebates. All being blamed on a new computer system, which is supposed to make tax payments more accurate! Well that's a detailed explanation of the joke. You must be rolling around by now.

Been away...

Latest cartoon entry in the CCGB caption contest. Some good ones this week, but there looks to be less entries than usual. Surely it couldn't be the hot weather that is putting people off hiding away in their darkened room drawing cartoons?
